Abstract

The aspirations of certain authors to view Russian history with a reference to eschatology led to political projects calling for their practical implementation. This trend is represented by activity of an ardent monarchist Mikhail Nazarov. The article analyses his views of the Russian world mission including a struggle against numerous internal and external enemies. A religious foundation of these views is scrutinized with respect to fantasies of the “Jewish-Masonic plot”, its connections with the West, an apostasy and an arrival of Antichrist as well as globalization as an allegedly evident sign of the “end of times”.
